ICD-11 in India
If you work in India, this short lesson is for you. Where do national standards stand, and where is the transition being driven from?
The 2016 EHR standards
India's electronic health record standards, notified by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 2016, name SNOMED CT as the preferred terminology for clinically relevant information, LOINC for tests and observations, and WHO ICD-10 for the statistical classification of diseases.

NRCeS and SNOMED CT
India became a member of SNOMED International in 2014. C-DAC Pune hosts the National Resource Centre for EHR Standards, which promotes the standards. SNOMED CT to ICD-10 maps are developed by SNOMED International and WHO, and C-DAC's toolkit exposes them through an API.
